Sebastiano Ricci (1 August 1659 – 15 May 1734) was an Italian painter of the late Baroque school of Venice. About the same age as Piazzetta, and an elder contemporary of Tiepolo, he represents a late version of the vigorous and luminous Cortonesque style of grand manner fresco painting.
Sebastiano Ricci (Belluno, 1 de agosto de 1659 - Veneza, 15 de maio de 1734) foi um pintor da Itália, integrante da Escola de Veneza. Era filho de Andreana e Livio Ricci, e aprendeu seu ofício com Federico Cerebri (alguns autores dizem que foi com Sebastiano Mazzoni).
Ricci painted The Glory of Marcantonio Colonna for the Colonna family palace. A tireless traveller, he also visited Milan and Padua. In 1702 he moved to Vienna to work on the decoration of the Schönbrunn palace and at this date Ricci’s style became more elegant and delicate.
Biography. Sebastiano Ricci was born in Belluno in 1659. At the age of fourteen, Sebastiano Ricci left his birthplace for Venice, where he soon entered the studio of Federico Cervelli (c. 1625 - before 1700), a Milanese painter active there since the mid-1650s.
