Thomas Rowlandson (1757-1827) was an English artist and caricaturist of the Georgian Era, known for his political satire and social observation. He also produced erotic prints, illustrations for novels and humorous books, and collaborated with Rudolph Ackermann and William Combe.

Rowlandson was born in London in 1757 and educated at Dr Barwis’ school on Soho Square before attending the Royal Academy Schools from the age of fifteen.
