Johan Christian Claussen Dahl (24 February 1788 – 14 October 1857), often known as J. C. Dahl or I. C. Dahl, was a Danish-Norwegian artist who is considered the first great romantic painter in Norway, the founder of the "golden age" of Norwegian painting.

Johan Christian Clausen Dahl er kjent som grunnleggeren av Norges nasjonale malerkunst. Han var den første store tolkeren av norsk natur og 1800-tallets fremste norske landskapsmaler. Han var professor ved kunstakademiet i Dresden fra 1824, men mens han bodde i Tyskland foretok han reiser til Norge fem ganger i tiden mellom 1826 og 1850.
