Louis Barillet (1880 – 1948) was a French artist, known for his work in stained glass. Among those with whom he collaborated were Théodore-Gérard Hanssen and Jacques Le Chevallier. His windows may be seen in the church of Notre-Dame-des-Missions-du-cygne d'Enghien and in the Saint-Sauveur de Bellême Church. References

Louis Joseph Pierre Barillet is a French glass artist. After painting studies in the studio of the painter Jean-Léon Gérôme at the "Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris", Louis Barillet started his career as a medal carver - and painter, but on a more confidential scale.
Louis Barillet became the theorist of modern stained glass windows in France as he renewed the religious and civil stained glass window approach, from as much an aesthetic as an iconographic point of view. Louis Barillet worked most notably with the architect Robert Mallet-Stevens.
Ancien élève des Beaux-Arts de Paris et du peintre Gérôme, commença sa carrière comme médailleur tout en pratiquant la peinture, mais de façon plus confidentielle. Sa rencontre en 1920 avec Jacques Le Chevalier, graveur et illustrateur, oriente définitivement Louis Barillet vers le décor monumental.
Louis Barillet occupied a position of unique versatility, able to deliver modern glass designs for religious and ecclesiastical applications, as well as achieving considerable importance within the secular world of decorative arts and architecture.
