Stand-up comedian Lenny Clarke plays Lenny Callahan, a working-class Bostonian holding down two jobs: construction worker by day and hotel doorman at night, while supporting his wife Shelley and three children.
Lenny is an American sitcom which aired on CBS from September 10, 1990, until March 16, 1991. The series, a starring vehicle conceived for comedian Lenny Clarke, was created by Don Reo and produced by Reo's Impact Zone Productions, Witt/Thomas Productions and Touchstone Television.

In 1980, Clarke wrote and starred in a local television show Lenny Clarke's Late Show featuring Wright and Leary, in collaboration with Boston comedy writer Martin Olson. Clarke and Olson were roommates, and their apartment, known by comedians as "The Barracks", was a notorious "crash pad" for comics visiting Boston, per the film.
