Welcome to Paradox was a Canadian science fiction television series aired on the Sci Fi Channel in the U.S. and subsequently on Showcase in Canada. It was first broadcast on August 17, 1998, ran for one season, with the final episode being released November 9, 1998.

17 de ago. de 1998 · Betaville is an utopian city where crime, violence, disease and other problems of society no longer exist. But all this has a dark side: virtual reality is taking over real life, people are struggling to keep control over their near-perfect machines and their own humanity.
S1.E3 ∙ The Winner. Mon, Aug 31, 1998. This prison has a unique way to keep inmates from breaking out: a chip implant which literally puts an offender in a holographic hell. A prison system official witnesses this barbaric treatment, but somehow doesn't see it as torture.
