- Seu nome verdadeiro é Grigóri Tchkhartichvili. Filho de pai do georgiano Chalva Tchkhartichvili e da judia Berta Brazínskaia, Borpis Akúnin chegou à Rússia quando tinha um ano de idade.
- Há muito mais por trás de seu pseudônimo. Tchkhartichvili escolheu o apelido B. Akúnin em 1998, acrescentando “Borís” nos anos 2000, após seus livros já terem se tornado best-sellers.
- Ele adora um experimento! Quando ganhou reputação estável e sucesso financeiro, Akúnin decidiu experimentar.
