15 de abr. de 2024 · Charles Sanders Peirce (born Sept. 10, 1839, Cambridge, Mass., U.S.—died April 19, 1914, near Milford, Pa.) was an American scientist, logician, and philosopher who is noted for his work on the logic of relations and on pragmatism as a method of research.
Peirce was analytic and scientific, devoted to logical and scientific rigor, and an architectonic philosopher in the mold of Kant or Aristotle. His best-known theories, pragmatism and the account of inquiry, are both scientific and experimental but form part of a broad architectonic scheme.

Filho do matemático, físico e astrônomo Benjamin Peirce, Charles, sob influência paterna, formou-se na Universidade de Harvard em física e matemática, conquistando também o diploma de químico na Lawrence Scientific School.
