Ole-Johan Dahl (12 October 1931 – 29 June 2002) was a Norwegian computer scientist. Dahl was a professor of computer science at the University of Oslo and is considered to be one of the fathers of Simula and object-oriented programming along with Kristen Nygaard.

The “expert programmer” was Ole-Johan Dahl. Working with Nygaard, Dahl produced the initial ideas for object-oriented programming, which is now the dominant style of programming for commercial and industrial applications.
10 de out. de 2013 · In 1963 Dahl left the NDRE and joined Nygaard Kristen at NR (Norwegian Computing Centre) which was a semi-governmental research institute. In 1968 Ole-Johan Dahl was invited to be a full professor to create the discipline of computer science at the University of Oslo.
