Welcome to Bjarne Stroustrup's homepage! I designed and implemented the C++ programming language. To make C++ a stable and up-to-date base for real-world software development, I have stuck with its ISO standards effort for 30+ years (so far). I'm a professor of Computer Science in Columbia University in New York City.

Bjarne Stroustrup (/ ˈ b j ɑːr n ə ˈ s t r ɒ v s t r ʊ p /; Danish: [ˈpjɑːnə ˈstʁʌwˀstʁɔp]; born 30 December 1950) is a Danish computer scientist, most notable for the invention and development of the C++ programming language.
Bjarne Stroustrup is the designer and original implementer of C++ as well as the author of The C++ Programming Language (4th Edition), A Tour of C++ (3rd edition), Programming: Principles and Practice using C++ (2nd Edition), and many popular and academic publications.

23 de mai. de 2024 · Bjarne Stroustrup was born in Aarhus, Denmark, in 1950. He received a master's in mathematics from Aarhus University in 1975 and a PhD in computer science from Cambridge University in 1979. Stroustrup then joined Bell Labs' Computer Science Research Center in Murray Hill, New Jersey, where he designed and implemented C++.
