John William Scott Cassels, também conhecido como Ian Cassels (Durham, 11 de julho de 1922 – 27 de julho de 2015), foi um matemático britânico. Foi Professor Sadleiriano de Matemática Pura da Universidade de Cambridge, de 1967 a 1986. Seus campos de pesquisa são a teoria dos números e geometria aritmético-algébrica.

Cassels was educated at Neville's Cross Council School in Durham and George Heriot's School in Edinburgh. He went on to study at the University of Edinburgh and graduated with an undergraduate Master of Arts (MA) degree in 1943.
