Arnaud Amaury ou Arnaud Amalric († 1225), abbé de Poblet, de Grand Selve, puis de Cîteaux (1200-1212), archevêque de Narbonne (1212-1225). Il est chargé, en tant que légat pontifical, de réprimer l'hérésie cathare durant la croisade des albigeois.

It is reported that prior to the massacre of Béziers, Amalric, when asked how to distinguish Cathars from Catholics, responded, "Kill them [all], for God knows which are His own."

Elle était gouvernée par une perle d’homme au mérite si grand qu’on l’appela bientôt à de plus nobles charges. D’abord on lui offrit de régner sur Grandselve.
