Jacob De Witt (September 17, 1785 – March 23, 1859) was a businessman, banker and political figure in Lower Canada and Canada East, Province of Canada (now Quebec). Beginning in the hardware trade, he expanded into steamship transportation on the River St. Lawrence and then banking.

Jacob de Witt (Dordrecht, 7 februari 1589 – aldaar, 10 januari 1674) stamde uit het Dordtse regentengeslacht De Witt. Hij was de zoon van de houthandelaar Cornelis Fransz de Witt en Johanna Heymans, zijn oudere broer was Andries de Witt.
