Kwame Malik Kilpatrick (born June 8, 1970) is an American politician, who previously served as the 72nd mayor of Detroit – from 2002 to 2008. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously represented the 9th district in the Michigan House of Representatives from 1997 to 2002.

Edmunds also denied Bobby Ferguson's request, who was convicted with Kilpatrick of public corruption crimes.
