  1. Francis Alfred Suttill DSO (born, France, 17 March 1910 – executed, c. 23 March 1945), code name Prosper, was an agent of the United Kingdom's clandestine Special Operations Executive (SOE) organization in World War II.

  2. Suttill was given only seven months of training in the ways of secret warfare and sent into the field. His main task was to set up a clandestine resistance organization in northern, southern, and eastern France, including the capital, Paris, which was in German hands.

Yvonne Rudellat (codenamed Jacqueline) was one of his couriers and the first female SOE agent to be sent behind enemy lines in German-occupied France.

  5. Major Francis Suttill was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Order. His name appears on the SOE memorial for F Section agents at Valençay in France, and the Groesbeek Memorial in the Netherlands.
