11 April 1609 (aged c. 76) John Lumley, 1st Baron Lumley, KB (c. 1533 – 1609) was an English aristocrat, who is remembered as one of the greatest collectors of art and books of his age.

John Lumley, 4th Lord Lumley (1493 – 1544) was an English knight. He was born the elder son of Richard Lumley, 3rd Lord Lumley and his wife Anne Conyers and succeeded his father in 1510. He fought at the Battle of Flodden in 1513 under the Earl of Surrey and was afterwards knighted.

Lumley made a garden in honour of Elizabeth I, as an apology to her, and is known to have possessed a full-length portrait of Anne Boleyn.
