Joseph Francis Dunford Jr. (born December 23, 1955) is a retired United States Marine Corps general who served as the 19th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from October 1, 2015 to September 30, 2019. He was the 36th commandant of the Marine Corps.

Retired U.S. Marine Corps General and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mr. Dunford is a director of Lockheed Martin since February 2020. He also serves as a senior fellow at Harvard University, a board member of Satellogic Inc., and a chairman of two veterans' funds.
