Field Marshal Sir John Greer Dill, GCB, CMG, DSO (25 December 1881 – 4 November 1944) was a senior British Army officer with service in both the First World War and the Second World War.

Sir John Greer Dill was a British field marshal who became the British chief of staff during the early part of World War II and, from 1941 to 1944, headed the British joint staff mission to the United States. After serving in the South African War (1899–1902) and in World War I, Dill advanced.

His college education was similar to Marshall’s, as Dill attended the British military college Sandhurst, while Marshall attended the Virginia Military Institute, and both commissioned into their armies after graduation.
