  4. Herbert R. O’Conor was born in Baltimore in a three-story row house on Homewood Avenue on November 17, 1896, the fourth son of James P. and Mary (Galvin) O’Conor. He received his early education at St. Paul’s Parochial School and at Loyola High School, and from there, he went on to Loyola College where he received the degree of Bachelor of Arts in 1917.
