Benjamin Williams Crowninshield (December 27, 1772 – February 3, 1851) served as the United States Secretary of the Navy between 1815 and 1818, during the administrations of Presidents James Madison and James Monroe.

Crowninshield resumed his political career in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, serving for one year in 1821. He gained a seat in Congress two years later, representing Massachusetts in the U.S. House from 1823 to 1831 and serving for one term as chairman of the Committee on Naval Affairs.
