Thomas Ewing Sr. (December 28, 1789 – October 26, 1871) was a National Republican and Whig politician from Ohio. He served in the U.S. Senate as well as serving as the fourteenth secretary of the treasury and the first secretary of the interior .

Thomas Ewing Jr. (August 7, 1829 – January 21, 1896) was an attorney, the first chief justice of Kansas and leading free state advocate, Union Army general during the American Civil War, and two-term United States Congressman from Ohio, 1877–1881. He narrowly lost the 1879 campaign for Ohio Governor.
Thomas Ewing (1849–1850) Thomas Ewing was born in 1789 in Ohio County, Virginia (now in West Virginia). He graduated from Ohio University in 1816 and, after studying law and being admitted to the state bar, opened a law practice in Lancaster, Ohio. From 1818 to 1829, Ewing served as the prosecuting attorney for Fairfield County.
