Jean-Frédéric Phélypeaux, comte de Maurepas, est un homme politique français, né le 9 juillet 1701 à Versailles et mort le 21 novembre 1781 en cette même ville. Il fut secrétaire d'État à la Marine de Louis XV de 1723 à 1749. Après une longue disgrâce, il devint ministre d'État à l'avènement de Louis XVI en 1774 jusqu'à sa mort en 1781. Biographie.
