Timothy Franz Geithner (/ ˈ ɡ aɪ t n ər /; born August 18, 1961) is an American former central banker who served as the 75th United States Secretary of the Treasury under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2013.
Timothy Geithner is the former U.S. Treasury Secretary and the current President of Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm. He is also a lecturer at Yale, a board member of the International Rescue Committee, and a co-chair of the Aspen Economic Strategy Group.
