George Gruntz (24 June 1932 – 10 January 2013) was a Swiss jazz pianist, organist, harpsichordist, keyboardist, and composer known for the George Gruntz Concert Big Band and his work with Phil Woods, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Don Cherry, Chet Baker, Art Farmer, Dexter Gordon, Johnny Griffin, and Mel Lewis.

29 de jun. de 2020 · Born in Basel, Switzerland, George Gruntz (1932-2013) was gifted enough at the piano to study at Zurich’s conservatoire from the age of 14. He won several first prizes at Swiss jazz festivals, and worked as a pianist/arranger for Basel Radio, while holding down a day job as a car salesman.
