Knives of the Avenger (Italian: I coltelli del vendicatore) is 1966 Italian film directed by Mario Bava. Bava entered production when it was already falling apart and re-wrote and shot the film in six days. It was credited to fictitious director John Hold.

Knives of the Avenger is a 1966 Italian adventure film directed by Mario Bava. The film stars Cameron Mitchell as a mysterious drifter who arrives in a Viking village. Set in a dark, medieval landscape, it follows his attempts to protect a woman and her son from a menacing outsider.
Synopsis. Vikingland, the 9th Century. On a beach, a witch reads the future to Karan (Elisa Pichelli) and her young son, Moki (Luciano Polletin). Karan is the wife of King Arald (Giacomo Rossi-Stuart), who is thought to have been killed at sea.
