A Fool and His Money is an American silent comedy film from 1912. It is either the first film or one of the earliest films with an African-American cast. It was directed by Alice Guy-Blaché, who is widely considered the first female film director.
Sam finds a large sum of money, and goes to New York to enjoy a shopping spree, buying new clothes, jewelry and a car with a driver. Back home, Lindy flips for Sam and his newfound wealth, and dumps the rival.
