Produced by Hammer Film Productions, it was released in May 1961 on a double feature bill with Curse of the Werewolf.

  4. Shadow of the Cat is a Hammer film that takes obvious inspiration from Edgar Allen Poe. We begin with a scene that sees a woman reading "The Raven" to her cat. She's then murdered, under the watchful eye of said cat - leading us to a plot clearly inspired by The Black Cat.
