The Spiderwick Chronicles is a series of children's fantasy books by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. They chronicle the adventures of the Grace children, twins Simon and Jared and their older sister Mallory, after they move into the Spiderwick Estate and discover a world of fairies that they never knew existed.
The Spiderwick Chronicles consists of eight episodes and premiered on the Roku Channel on April 19, 2024, to mixed reviews from critics, with praise for its visuals and Slater's performance, but some criticism for its writing, pacing, character development and deviations from the source material.
The film, set in the Spiderwick Estate in New England, follows three children who discover a field guide to fairies while encountering various magical creatures such as goblins, ogres, brownies, boggarts, hobgoblins, trolls and many others. The film is dedicated to Scott Rathner, who died on August 12, 2007.
