Golden Earrings is a mild war thriller with something of a buddy-comedy-turned-romance in tow. Escaping Nazi imprisonment, British Colonel Ralph Denistoun (Ray Milland) must cross the German countryside incognito and is helped by a Gypsy woman named Lydia (Marlene Dietrich), who disguises him as her husband.
