The journey is not what you expect. A dour, grieving Scotsman and his shy, repressed teenage son, take the plane to the States and then a bus to the South where the boy's uncle (David Hayman) lives with his American wife. Their cultures are like rain on a summer's day.

Details. Murdo and his father journey to North Alabama after the death of his mother. Murdo is an accordion player but has not played since his mother died. He meets an old lady called Queen Monzee-ay who plays accordion. She rekindles his interest in music.
24 de jun. de 2018 · Dirt Road to Lafayette is a low key film about grief, and using music to work through it. It follows teenager Murdo as he travels from Scotland to Alabama following the death of his mother. Murdo plays the accordion, but the tragic disruption in his life has caused him to set it aside for a while.
Queen Monzee-ay is playing a retrospective gig at the upcoming Lafayette festival in Louisiana and offers him the chance to come play. Murdo's father turns up, angry at Murdo for wandering off and declines an invitation to dine with Queen Monzee-ay's family.
