Raymond W. Gruender (born July 5, 1963) is a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit . Education and early career. Gruender was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from the prestigious Jesuit, all-boy college College-preparatory school, St. Louis University High School, in 1981.
The Honorable Raymond W. Gruender was nominated by President George W. Bush to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit on September 29, 2003, and confirmed by the Senate on May 20, 2004. He was sworn in on June 28, 2004. Between 2012 and 2014, he served on the Judicial Conference Committee on Criminal Law.
