Robert Emerson "Bob" Clampett (8 May 1913 - 2 May 1984) was an American director, producer, animator, and puppeteer. He is best known for his work with both of Warner Bros.' cartoon series, Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies.
Bob Clampett was one of the pioneers of American Animation. While he wasstill in his teens, Clampett designed the first Mickey Mouse doll for Walt Disney. Shortly thereafter, Clampett went to work at the Harman-Ising studio and animated scenes for the first Merrie Melodie ever made, "Lady Play Your Mandolin."
