Jonathan "John" Nolan is the main character in The Rookie. He was a Police Officer I from Seasons 1-3 and a Police Officer II in Season 4. In Season 5, he was promoted to Police Officer III via a "golden ticket" (allowing an officer to choose any position in the LAPD) in Season 5.
John Nolan is a London-born character actor and stage director, who has appeared in several of his nephew Christopher Nolan's films. He is also known for his roles in Person of Interest, Dunkirk and Following.
