Charles Henry Stapley (23 July 1925 – 8 January 2011) was an English actor, best known for playing Ted Hope in the television soap opera Crossroads. He also appeared in various theatrical roles, in The Benny Hill Show, and in a television version of The Adventures of Robin Hood in which he took 26 different roles.

Charles Stapley. Actor. 22 July 1925 to 8 January 2011. Most readily identifiable for his recurring role in the popular soap opera Crossroads (1970-79), Stapley was a versatile actor equally at home on the stage as the screen.
Charles Stapley, who has died at the age of 85, was a regular on Crossroads throughout much of the 1970s, playing Ted Hope, a philandering former Navy captain who ran the local antiques shop.
