Mayer Lehman (January 9, 1830 – June 21, 1897) was an American businessman, banker, and philanthropist. He was one of the three founding brothers of the investment bank Lehman Brothers.

In partial mitigation, Flade remarked that people living in antebellum Alabama could not easily oppose slavery, which is quite true.
