Step Lively is a 1944 American musical film directed by Tim Whelan and starring Frank Sinatra. Step Lively was based on the 1937 play Room Service , by Allen Boretz and John Murray . It was a remake of the 1938 RKO film Room Service , starring the Marx Brothers , Lucille Ball , and Ann Miller .

Much like Higher and Higher, Step Lively exists partially to simply showcase Frank Sinatra's talent as a singer over the plot. I have not seen the original Marx Brothers film, but I actually really enjoyed Step Lively. In the 1940s, quite a lot of Frank Sinatra's roles were playing sweet and naive men.
