Gabriel de Rochechouart, 1st Duke of Mortemart (1600 – 26 December 1675) was a French nobleman and father of the Marquise de Montespan. He was a friend of the French King Louis XIII.
A childhood friend of Louis XIII, Gabriel de Rochechouart de Mortemart (1600–1675) accompanied the king on several expeditions. He was made first gentleman of the royal bedchamber (premier gentilhomme de la chambre du roi) in 1630.

Issue. Louis Victor de Rochechouart, Duke of Vivonne (2nd Duke of Mortemart) (25 August 1636 - 15 December 1688) married Antoinette Louise de Mesmes and had issue. Gabrielle de Rochechouart (1633 – 12 September 1693) married Claude Léonor Damas, Marquis of Thianges and had issue.

Biography Duke of Mortemart and Peer of France. Ceded the title of Duke of Mortemart to his son Louis Paul (q.v.) in 1730; when Louis Paul died (1731), the title passed to Louis's other son, Charles Auguste, then to the latter's son, Louis François Charles Augustin (1743).
