Berkeley College is a residential college at Yale University, opened in 1934. The eighth of Yale's 14 residential colleges, it was named in honor of Bishop George Berkeley (1685–1753), dean of Derry and later bishop of Cloyne , in recognition of the assistance in land and books that he gave to Yale in the 18th century.
Berkeley College is one of fourteen residential colleges at Yale University, centrally located on Cross Campus at 205 Elm Street.

Dean’s Office. The primary responsibility of the residential college Dean is to supervise the academic progress of students and advise them throughout the process of selecting courses, picking a major, and completing graduation requirements.
The Head of College is the head and ranking officer of Berkeley College, responsible for the college’s intellectual, social, athletic, and artistic life. The college is administered through the Head of College’s Office, which is staffed by an operations manager, senior administrative assistant, and student aides.
Berkeley College has two common rooms that may be used for studying, watching a movie or simply relaxing. Charles Seymour Common Room overlooks the south courtyard and is located adjacent to the Dining Hall. The Common Room is always bustling with students and features a grand piano.
