Safia Thomas (born Safia Nafisa Shah on 16 November 1966; Persian: سفیا شاه, Gujarati: સફિયા શાહ) is a British writer, editor, television news producer and member of the Afghan-Indian Shah family.
Safia Shah. Safia Shah was born in London, England, and is the daughter of Sufi philosopher Idries Shah. She has worked with Afghan refugees on the Pakistan–Afghan border, has owned a traditional British food store and is the author of numerous books and short stories.

Safia Shah is the youngest daughter of Idries Shah and the founder and director of Kashfi’s Children. She has worked with Afghan refugees in Pakistan, as a newsroom journalist for Associated Press Television and as a consultant for the Idries Shah Foundation.
It’s been read by Safia Shah who has poured all her enthusiasm, creativity and talent – and worked with (surely) the world’s most brilliant illustrators – into adapting some of her father’s Teaching Stories into these beloved editions.
