Charles Michael " Chilla " Porter (11 January 1936 – 15 August 2020) was an Australian athlete and political figure. He won a silver medal in the high jump at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne. He later served as general secretary of the Liberal Party of Australia (Western Australian Division) from 1978 to 1987.

16 de ago. de 2020 · Charles "Chilla" Porter, a champion high-jumper who won silver at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, has died after a long battle with cancer. Porter, whose son Christian is federal Attorney-General in the Morrison government, became a national hero after his marathon battle with American champion Charles Dumas which lasted until after sunset.

Commonwealth Games Australia mourns the passing of two-time Commonwealth Games silver medallist and Olympic silver medallist Charles ‘Chilla’ Porter, who passed away on Sunday aged 84. Chilla won silver medals in the high jump at the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff and again in Perth in 1962.
