Lawrence Parsons, 2nd Earl of Rosse (21 May 1758 – 24 February 1841), known as Sir Lawrence Parsons, Bt, from 1791 to 1807, was an Irish peer. Biography Birr Castle, County Offaly. Parsons was the son of Sir William Parsons, 4th Baronet and Mary Clere.

Of particular interest to us here is Sir Lawrence Parsons, 2nd Earl of Rosse (1758-1841). Sir Lawrence pursued many interests throughout his lifetime . He was a MP for Trinity College from 1782-1790 and for Kings County from 1891-1807. He was a distinguished parliamentarian and opposed the 1801 Act of Union.

PARSONS, Sir LAWRENCE, second Earl of Rosse (1758–1841), eldest son of Sir William Parsons of Birr, and Mary, only daughter and heiress of John Clere of Kilburry, was born on 21 May 1758. He graduated B.A. of Trinity College, Dublin, in 1780, and in the same year published a pamphlet denouncing the Irish Mutiny Bill.
