Modern Romance is a British pop music band that found popularity in the early 1980s. Formed in 1980 by previous members of an earlier group, the Leyton Buzzards, the band achieved a string of UK chart hits before the original group broke up in 1985. Andy Kyriacou reformed the band in 1999 who continue to perform the group's music.
Correct as of 9 October 2021. Andi Kyriacou (born 4 January 1983) is an English-born, Irish-qualified former rugby union player and current coach. Kyriacou played as a hooker for Sale Sharks, Leeds Carnegie, Saracens, Munster, Ulster, and Cardiff Blues before moving into coaching.
ABOUT THE BAND. David Jaymes co-formed Modern Romance in 1981. That same year, drummer and vocalist Andy Kyriacou joined the band. Andy's PR ideas were incorporated by the band for the release of the single Everybody Salsa and within 8 weeks Modern Romance had their first chart hit.
7 de jan. de 2023 · In 1999, Andy Kyriacou revived the Modern Romance name with a completely new line up that includes his daughter Natalie. The new ‘Modern Romance’ have played 80’s festivals and gigs and in 2002, released a brand new album, “Back On Track”, the first using the Modern Romance name for seventeen years.
