Before the Ruin is a collaborative studio album by Scottish folk musicians Kris Drever, John McCusker and Roddy Woomble, released on 15 September 2008 through Navigator Records. The album entered the UK Albums Chart at #156 and the Scottish Albums chart at #45.

Woomble's follow-up album, Before the Ruin, written and recorded with Kris Drever and John McCusker, was released on 15 September 2008 through Navigator Records. In 2009 Woomble re-located to the Isle of Mull in the Scottish Hebrides and began work on a new album entitled 'The Impossible Song & other songs'.

15 de set. de 2008 · Kris Drever, John McCusker and Roddy Woomble are all celebrated Scottish musicians in their own rights, so their first collaboration, Before the Ruin, was always going to be a tantalising prospect. Drever is known for his work as one third of Lau, as well as his solo album, Black Water.
Before The Ruin is the result of three of Scotland's best current writers and performers getting together with limited time (seven afternoons and then demoed on a laptop).
