Herbert James Russell (28 May 1920 – 30 March 2019), better known as Jim Russell, was an English racing driver, garage owner and founder of the Jim Russell Racing Driver School. He died on 30 March 2019, shortly after undergoing an operation for a hip replacement.

Russell is best known for setting up his famous International Racing Drivers’ School at Snetterton in 1956. In 1969 he opened a similar school in Canada, at Circuit Mont-Tremblant, and that still thrives today.

7 de abr. de 2019 · He moved on to Formula 2, winning the coveted British Empire Trophy in 1959 and taking the class win in the BRDC International Trophy the same year. At the same time as his driving career started moving beyond F3, Russell set up his famous racing school at his local Snetterton circuit.
In 1957, British racing champion Jim Russell founded the racing school industry when he opened the world's first training facility for racing drivers.
