Lady Mary Louisa Elgin, (Lambton, 8 de maio de 1819 [1] – 9 de Março de 1898) foi uma pintora britânica. Filha de John Lambton, 1º Conde de Durham, e sua segunda esposa. Lady Mary Louisa Lambton, the eldest daughter of the 1st Earl of Durham, was born in 1819. She was the second wife of James Bruce, 8th Earl of Elgin. They were married in London, England, in 1846. As a teenager she had visited Canada with her father and two of her sisters, Emily and Alice.

Charles William Lambton was born 16 January 1818, the elder son of John Lambton, who was then a Member of Parliament for County Durham, and his second wife Louisa. He was baptised on 12 February 1818 at St Mary and St Cuthbert, Chester-le-Street , which at the time was the parish church of his family home, Lambton Castle . [1]
