ABOUT US. Harlem School of the Arts is a cultural arts center of interdisciplinary excellence. For over 50 years, HSA has built a community centered around a dynamic global curriculum, with a focus on diasporas of prominence in Harlem and Upper Manhattan.
The Harlem School of the Arts facilities, including its 120-seat HSA Theater are available for rental for corporate, nonprofit, and private events as well as for commercial and film shoots. Three dance studios, music studios, a garden courtyard and cafe are also available.
Since its founding by internationally-acclaimed soprano Dorothy Maynor in 1964, Harlem School of the Arts at The Herb Alpert Center has transformed the lives of tens of thousands of young people ages 2-18 through world-class interdisciplinary training in the arts.
