Gonville and Caius College, often referred to simply as Caius (/ k iː z / KEEZ), is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge in Cambridge, England. Founded in 1348 by Edmund Gonville , it is the fourth-oldest of the University of Cambridge's 31 colleges and one of the wealthiest.
History. Caius is the fourth oldest College in the University of Cambridge. The College was first founded as Gonville Hall by Edmund Gonville, Rector of Terrington St Clement in Norfolk, in 1348, and refounded in 1557 by John Caius as Gonville and Caius College.

Gonville and Caius College is one of the colleges of the University of Cambridge, England. It is often called Caius (said keys ) by the students. It was created in 1348 by Edmund Gonville who gave money to build it.
He is now a Fellow of Gonville and Caius College and a Professor in the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge. He received the 1992 and 1999 George Axelby Best Paper Awards, in the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control in 1992 and 1999, both times for joint work with T.T. Georgiou.
