Svein Knutsson (Old Norse: Sveinn Knútsson [ˈswɛinː ˈknuːtsˌson]; c. 1016–1035) was the son of Cnut the Great, king of Denmark, Norway, and England, and his first wife Ælfgifu of Northampton, a Mercian noblewoman.
Svein Knutsson is a prince of Denmark, and the youngest son of King Canute of Denmark and his Queen Consort, Ælfgifu. Svein and his brother Harald Harefoot are present when their mother meets with Olaf Haraldsson.

Svein was regent of Norway on behalf of his father Cnut from 1030 until 1035.
Svein Knutsson (1016-1035) was King of Norway from 1030 to 1035, succeeding Canute and preceding Magnus I of Norway. Svein Knutsson was born in 1016, the son of King Canute and Aelfgifu of Northampton, and the full brother of Harold Harefoot.
He was the father of King Harald II of Denmark, King Cnut the Great, and Queen Estrid Svendsdatter. [2] In the mid-980s, Sweyn revolted against his father, Harald Bluetooth, and seized the throne. Harald was driven into exile and died shortly afterwards in November 986 or 987. [4]
