Vyankojirajah Bhonsle (born 1632) or Ekojirajah I Bhonsle was the younger half-brother of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and founder of Maratha rule in Thanjavur in modern day Tamil Nadu. [1] .
The dynasty was founded by Maloji Bhosale who initially served as a patil (chief) of the Hingni Berdi and Devalgaon villages around Pune. [29] [30] Later, along with his brother Vithoji, he migrated to Sindkhed and served as a Horseman.
The Thanjavur Maratha kingdom ruled by the Bhonsle dynasty was a principality of Tamil Nadu between the 17th and 19th centuries. Their native language was Thanjavur Marathi. Vyankoji Bhosale was the founder of the dynasty.

Its progenitor was Venkoji Raje Bhosale, son of Shahaji Raje Bhosale and step-brother of the famous Shivaji Raje Bhosale, the great Maratha warrior king. List of kings.
4 de abr. de 2010 · Shahaji's son Ekoji (or Vyankoji) from Tukabai went on to establish the royal Bhosala dynasty at Thanjavur (in Tamil Nadu state, south India). Shahaji died in an accident when he was thrown from his horse.
Shivaji had a brief altercation with his step-brother, Vyankoji (who had by now established his rule in Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu). It was a dispute over Shahaji's legacy and estate in Karnatak, but eventually both brothers were able to reach an amicable settlement.
