  1. Thomas Hamilton, 9th Earl of Haddington, KT, PC, FRS, FRSE (21 June 1780 – 1 December 1858), known as Lord Binning from 1794 to 1828, was a Scottish Conservative statesman.

  2. Earl of Haddington is a title in the Peerage of Scotland. It was created in 1627 for the noted Scottish lawyer and judge Thomas Hamilton, 1st Earl of Melrose. He was Lord President of the Court of Session from 1616 to 1625.

He became MP for St. Germains, Cornwall, between 1801-1806, then MP for Cockermouth in 1807, for Collington 1807-1812, for Michaelborough 1814-1818, for Rochester 1818-1826, and for Yarmouth 1826-1827.
